In December 2019, Naked Frank Theatre were back inside forensic facilities with more theatre and festivities. Bringing the beauty of Christmas to vulnerable adults on long term recovery programmes in mental health units, The Angel Of December was their most challenging show yet. Encouraging patients who would otherwise have spent their Christmas alone, to sing, laugh, cry and celebrate together.
"Because Christmas is still for everyone." 'Twas twelve days before Christmas and great change was astir. The Archangel Gabriel's ascent must occur to the clear skies above, to reign down from on high as the great Northern Star that burns bright in the sky. So a new voice of Christmas is in need to be found; The Angel of December, whose gift is her sound. She'll spread merriment and joy for creation to hear. She'll bring wonder to all for the next thousand years. She's the sound of the jingling bells as they chime. She's the whoosh of the sleigh as it passes through time. She's the twinkling heard when St. Nick's on the roof and the prancing and pawing of each little hoof. The choir that chants from the chancel in church. The Robin that tweets from its nestling perch. The crunching of white, she's the snow beneath feet. She's the laughter of children who skip through the street. She's that beautiful voice of all good Christmas cheer that is heard by the world when festivities near. The magic of Christmas that rings out through voice. She's the merriment of December and all of its noise. And so starts our tale, some twelve days in advance. In searching, a great Angel of perseverance. 'Tis the Archangel Gabriel whose hunt must make haste. He's just twelve days to go so there's no time to waste! |
