# STOP IT BEFORE IT STARTS
Stop It Before It Starts is an anti-homophobia campaign aimed at 13-18 year olds. The campaign is geared towards stopping homophobia before it starts in the school environment. "More than half of the students in U.K schools have been targeted by homophobic bullying." (nobullying.com, 2015) Homophobic violence, or 'gay bashing' as it is more commonly known is becoming increasingly popular in U.K schools. "One in six experiencing homophobic hate incidents experienced a physical assault." (The Gay British Crime Survey, 2008) Physical assault and violence start with name calling. Homophobic name calling is assault! Stop homophobic name calling in U.K schools before it becomes homophobic violence!

Stop It Now! is part of the Stop It Before It Starts! Campaign, an anti-homophobia campaign aimed at 13-18 year olds in the UK. The campaign is geared towards stopping homophobia before it starts in the school environment. Our message is clear; it's okay to be gay and you have a choice to bully someone; choose not to!
Naked Frank Theatre are working collaboratively with secondary schools to give young people a voice on homophobia. Stop It Now! is a hands on theatre project in which young people are supported to write their own material and devise their own verbatim inspired show on the subject of homophobia. Directed by Naked Frank Theatre the show will then be performed by the cast in a professional local theatre. The most creative, bold and hard hitting show will be selected to perform in a London venue. "Change only happens when someone stands up and says what needs to be said out loud. Let's give young people the chance to change their future." Are you a teacher? Do you hear phrases like "that's so gay" on a daily basis? Do your students need a change of attitude? Sign up to our Stop It Now! programme today! Together we can make UK schools a more tolerant, safe and diverse place to learn. #StopItNow!
